On October 30, Zhou Yujiang, Acting Consul General in Johannesburg, met with Deng Tao, Senior Director of International Business of Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd. and his delegation at the Consulate General.
Deng reported on the company's overseas business layout, business operations in South Africa, and plans to further explore the Southern African market.
Zhou affirmed the company's philosophy of using its South AfricanRegional Headquarters as a platform to increase investment in Africacontinuously, as well as its plans in strengthening local vocational education and expanding logistics bases. Zhou introduced the political, economic and trade exchanges between China and South Africa as well as the security risks in South Africa basing on the actual situation in the consular district. Zhou said that this year marks the 10thanniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s proposal to jointly build the “Belt and Road”. The BRICS Summit held in August and the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in October will bring more business opportunities to entrepreneurs. He hoped that the company could seize the opportunity to contribute to the pragmatic economic cooperation between China and South Africa and China and Africa, and promote the high-quality joint development of the Belt and Road.
Deng thanked Zhou for his guidance and said that the company will carry out overseas researchactively, pursue the company's business developmentdirection firmly, play the leading role of a Chinesestate-owned enterprise, and make pragmatic contributions to China-South Africa economic and trade cooperation.
