Acting Consul General Zhou Yujiang Visits the Hong Ning Chinese Aged Home in Johannesburg

On October 24, 2023, Acting Consul General Zhou Yujiang and his delegation visited the Hong Ning ChineseAgedHome to greet the elderly South AfricanChinese, expressed the warmth and care from their home country (or country of origin), and presented them with daily necessities and other supplies.

Acting Consul General Zhou Yujiang expressed his appreciation to all staff and volunteers of the AgedHome, and praised them for actively promoting the Chinese nation’s traditional virtues of respecting the elderly and demonstrating the positive energy of the benevolent acts in the Chinese community. Consul General Zhou said that respecting the elderly, caring for the young and helping others are traditional virtues of the Chinese nation. Taking care of the elderly is also a major concern of all overseas Chinese with great social significance. The Consulate General in Johannesburg will continue to support Hong Ning ChineseAgedHome in the future and contribute to creating a clean, tidy, warm and comfortable nursing home for the South African Chinese.

The entire Aged Home was deeply moved and motivated. The Aged Home sincerely thanked the Chinese Embassy and Consulates as well as the South African Chinese community for their long-term care and funding support, and will operate diligently to create a more comfortable and secure retirement environment for the elderly South African Chinese.
