Acting Consul General Zhou Yujiang Attends the Charity Event of South Africa-China Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce

On the morning of October 12, 2023, Zhou Yujiang, Acting Consul General in Johannesburg was invited to attend the charity event of South Africa-China Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce donating stationery and educational materials to Eketsang Secondary School in Johannesburg. Chen Yunsheng, President of the South Africa-China Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce and other members of the Chamber, Li Xinzhu, Director of the South Africa Chinese Community and Police Cooperation Centre, Khanyisa, Campaigns and Events Manager of the Adopt-a-School Foundation in South Africa, Fumbata, Principal of Eketsang Secondary School, and many others attended the charity event.

Acting Consul General Zhou fully affirmed the philanthropic act of the South Africa-China Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce. He pointed out that in addition to their own efforts, the Chinese community living and doing businesin South Africa have received strong support and assistance from the local communities. This time, the South Africa-China Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce actively gave back to the local community and donatededucational materials to the students in need. This highly meaningful and touching act not only contributedto the development of local education, but also promoted the Chinese traditional culture’s spirit of humanity, fraternity, and advocating education. Zhou hoped that the students can understand the importance of education better through thecharity event.

Chen Yunsheng, President of the South Africa-China Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce, said that the Chamber has always persisted in carrying out charity activities for local schools. He is grateful to the South African local communities for supporting its Chamber members and will continue to support the development of local communities in the future.

Fumbata, the Principal of Eketsang Secondary School, thanked the Chinese community for supporting the school. He especially expressed his gratitude to the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce for donating educating materials worth R180,000 and the Adopt-a-School Foundation for its support. He said that this was a commendable positive interaction between the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce and local school.
